Kinsai and surihaku — the gold-leaf arts that have

For generations, kinsai and surihaku have graced traditional kimono. We are Hirooka Kyozome Kogei — a studio that folds this beauty into modern lifestyles, delivering small moments of joy: hands-on experiences beside our artisans, and works that brighten daily life.

金箔・銀箔・砂子
純度の高い箔と砂子を、意匠や生地に合わせてひとつずつ使い分けます。
Fine gold and silver leaf, and sunago dust, chosen piece by piece for each design and fabric.
TOOLS
手に馴染む道具たち
代々使い込まれてきた刷毛や竹箸が、繊細な箔の仕事を支えています。
Brushes and bamboo tweezers, worn smooth by generations, support this delicate work.
DESIGN
一枚ごとの下絵
古典の紋様を、現代の感覚で描き起こし、型に仕立てます。
Classic motifs are redrawn with a modern eye and cut into stencils, one by one.

Beginner-friendly — our artisans guide you through every step.
① 選ぶ
Choose
好きな生地（トートバッグ等）や型（紋様）を選びます。
Pick your fabric (tote bag, etc.) and a stencil pattern.
② 摺る
Apply
職人の指導のもと、糊を置き、金箔を施します。
With the artisan's guidance, lay the paste and apply gold leaf.
③ 持ち帰る
Take Home
完成した作品は、その場でお持ち帰りいただけます。
Your finished piece is yours to take home that very day.

はじめ ての方でも大丈夫。糊の置き方から箔のあしらいまで、職人がひとつずつ、あなたのペースに合わせてお伝えします。
First time? No worries. From laying the paste to placing the leaf, your artisan walks you through each step at your own pace.
DETAIL 02
糊を置き、箔を摺り込む。
Lay the paste, press the leaf
型紙の上から糊を置き、タンポでやさしく摺り込むと、生地の上に紋様が静かに浮かび上がります。息をひそめる、いちばん楽しい時間です。
Paste goes on through the stencil; press gently with a tampo and the pattern quietly emerges — the most breath-holding, delightful moment.

金銀の箔で、仕上げる。
Finish with gold and silver
最後に砂子や切箔を散らせば、同じものはふたつとない、世界にひとつの作品に。仕上がりの表情はその日の手の記憶です。
Scatter sunago and cut leaf to finish — no two pieces ever shine alike.
